Instructions for disassembling and replacing faulty capacitors on  a AMW  Model F199 19" Monitor.

1.  This is the back of the Monitor

2.  Remove the pedestal.

3.   Use a flat blade screwdriver here to pry the case open.  In order to lift the back cover off, you must pry the case open on all sides.

4.   Once you've lifted the back cover off, this is what you'll see.  The arrow points to the EMI/RFI shield. The original shield does not have the cut out.  I cut out this rectangle because it gets extremely hot under the shield and this will allow heat to flow out.   Its probably NOT a good idea to remove the whole cover due  EMI or RFI issues.

There's a white plastic insulator sheet underneath the top of the EMI/RFI shield  which  is probably there to keep components from shorting out, but, it also keeps the temperature hotter underneath.  This should remain in place.

5.   The 2 capacitors that the arrow is pointing to are what caused the intermittent problem on my unit.  The caps were bulging at the top and leaky.  They are in close proximity to a transistor which gets very hot, so, that might have been part of the problem.

I replaced these 2 caps and didn't have any more problems.  The value of both caps are the same:  680uf  , 16V, and temp rating of 105 degrees Celcius.  Because of the heat generated by the nearby transistor, I think the temp rating is important.

6.   Reverse the process and put the unit back together.  This worked for me.  Hopefully it will work for you.
